Sesame Street?s Kevin Clash Resigns As Voice Of Elmo

After 28 years as the voice of Elmo Kevin Clash has resigned from Sesame Street. The scandal that has rocked not only Kevin’s personal life but the iconic children show as well, has proven to be too much for the show and Clash. Until a couple of weeks ago many of you may not have known who Kevin was, I am sure you all knew Elmo and that distinctive voice the loveable character had but you may not have known that Clash was the man behind that voice. Thanks to his personal life, which has been rocked with inappropriate sexual allegations, the puppeteer will no longer be the voice of Elmo. Here is what Kevin has to say about his resignation. “I am resigning from Sesame Workshop with a very heavy heart. I have loved every day of my 28 years working for this exceptional organization. “Personal matters have diverted attention away from the important work Sesame Street is doing and I cannot allow it to go on any longer. I am deeply sorry to be leaving and am looking forward to resolving these personal matters privately.” Sheldon Stephens accused Kevin of having sex with him when Sheldon was underage. [...]
